Here we go, another bike trip. This time its three-and-a-half weeks through (parts of) 6 countries in Central America. Good thing Central America is small! Overall I'm looking at about 2300km in 23 days. I'm flying from Toronto to Cancun, riding South along the Mayan Riviera coast to Belize... through Belize exiting to the West, into Guatemala, to the temples of Tikal. Cycling Southwest from Tikal the terrain will become mountainous as I cross over the spine of the Americas, to Lago Atitlan - a 3-volcano lake in the highlands. From here to Antigua (a tourist trap town) then into El Salvador. I'll cycle the length of El Salvador (only a few hundred km!), nipping through a small corner of Honduras, and finishing in Managua, Nicaragua. A flight back to Cancun, and a flight home. Bit of a whirlwind? Bring it on! Below is the general route maps; I will post more detailed road maps as we go along. Enjoy the ride!
